Moondance

Come out and dance with me my love.
How much of you will I see tonight?
Some say you are trying to start anew but I know you are just being shy.
Your beauty is beyond words.
I know you love me too.
Why must you go through such stages of uncertainty?
All the waxing and waning...
It is as if you must rediscover yourself each time.
Oh please, show me your all tonight.
I want to shine upon on your every curve.
Must I tell you this each time for you to look at me directly?
When you turn your eyes to mine, your allure is overwhelming.
Our dance will illuminate everything!
When we are aligned we become so magnetic that even the tides will overflow.
Do not deny us this.
Come out and dance with me my love.

Lovely. Personified moon or moonified person?

I dig it.

Lilwave said...

Thanks JeffScape. Either or, whichever suits the reader.

Beautiful, ambiguity intended anticipates the inevitable moonified personifications and disarms the harms of misinterpretation.

Great poem, I like how it describes a sort of love affair between the Earth and the Moon.

A dance for the ages.

Lilwave said...

Yodood,
Thanks..how you describe it tis a dance in itself.

Hippo, I'm glad you got that. That is how it seemed from my perspective when writing it.

Wings, I suppose or at least until the fragile balance ceases to exist.

Beautiful :)

'Show me your all tonight'- how frustrating for the earth to never see the far/dark side.

I called my entry 'moondance' too, but it's very different!

Really, really well written - especially love the ability to look at the poem from 2 different points of view.
